• Added photos by Ted Curphey and Greg Kamholz to the rotation of front page photos. Also corrected the operating steam engine comparison table - UP 3985 had been listed as a 4-8-8-4 instead of a 4-6-6-4.

• The new version of the sps700.org web site is launched. The site features lots of all-new content, better organization, and a new color scheme and textures from the 700 herself. The new background is derived from a picture including the black paint on her wheel, the top nav bar is derived from a picture of one of the connecting rods, and the bottom nav bar is from a picture of a cylinder piston. For those within the PRPA who have been following along, work on the new page includes the following:

  • 05/08/2010 - The work-event-type gallery pages from the old site (with pictures of us rebuilding the boiler, rebabbitting the crossheads, etc.) have all been linked in to items in the PRPA page's Work History section.
  • 05/02/2010 - Incorporated some corrections and additional information from Jim on some of the outings on the Events page.
  • 05/01/2010 - Re-targeted the ORHF link on the home page under the (smokeless) picture directly to the ORHF capital campaign site.
  • 04/29/2010 - Corrected formatting throughout the site.
  • 04/??/2010 - The old outing and work event gallery pages have been migrated over to the new site. Outings pages have all been linked to the new Events page.
  • 04/15/2010 - The Events page has been modified to correct the Yakima/Washington Steamfest outing confusion.
  • 04/08/2010 - The Shannon Family steam guage donation page has been migrated over to the new site.
  • 04/06/2010 - The Events page is added along with links to newly-reformatted gallery pages describing the outings brough over from the old site.
  • 04/01/2010 - The Contribute page has been added. On the Concessions page, some verbage and a link to the eBay site was added and a wierd "s" floating around at the top of the page was exterminated. Added some redirects from the old concessions/concessesionorder.html and prpa.html to concessions/concessesionorder.shtml and prpa.shtml so that any links already existing out on the web will still get people here.
  • 04/01/2010 - Home page updated to address hanging "Partners" link, got rid of smoky picture and begin capability to cycle through photos. Also tweaked the ORHF and EasyStreet logos at the bottom of the page. Charlie pointed out an issue concerning the quantity of fire brick replaced in the 2001-2002 work history on the 700 page (get there from the Rolling Stock page), and this was also corrected.
  • 03/25/2010 - Revision to Rolling Stock page adds more verbage. The Rolling Stock page links to a 700 page link, but please ignore this for now.
  • 03/23/2010 - Partners page has been added.
  • 03/15/2010 - The new sps700.org web site is unveiled to the board for initial review and input.
